Charging that Hudson Valley Community College committed "a particularly egregious case of censorship," a New York lawyer's group has promised to initiate legal action unless the college exhibits a show of controversial photographs.
Officials of the Troy college on Aug. 29 removed an exhibit of photos by former Troy resident Maria Monk, some of which contained nudity, from its cultural center.
Dominick Eannello, vice president for external affairs at the college called the photographs "inappropriate" for the center and for the college program in general.
