It's particularly important that we note this significant milestone because for at least 20 years he has been joking that people have thought he has been dead for years. He does have some company in the 90-year-old set. Stanley Aronson, his former saxophone player, who also played in Glenn Miller's orchestra, recently beat him to the 90 candles.
